16kWh Home Battery Storage (Clean Solar + Backup Upgrade Path)

The 16kWh class UZ wall-mount battery is built for customers who want longer runtime, higher total storage, and an easy expansion path. Pair it with a split-phase hybrid inverter (system dependent) for solar self-consumption and reliable backup power.

What the 16kWh battery is built to do

Longer Backup Runtime
  • More stored energy for outages (runtime depends on load + configuration)
  • Helps reduce the number of battery units needed in many installs
  • Ideal for “critical loads + comfort loads” planning (system dependent)
Solar Self-Consumption
  • Store excess PV during the day and use it at night
  • Reduce grid reliance depending on solar size and loads
  • Best results with correct commissioning settings
Expandable Bank
  • Add batteries in parallel to scale total kWh (limits vary)
  • Confirm inverter rules + BMS addressing before commissioning
  • Use proper cable sizing + protection devices (code dependent)

How to size 16kWh storage (simple method)

Step 1 — Loads

List what must stay on (fridge, lights, router, garage door, medical devices, etc.). Estimate average watts.

Step 2 — Runtime

Choose hours. Example: 900W average × 12 hours = 10.8kWh. Add headroom for surges and real-world losses.

Step 3 — Battery Count

One 16kWh class unit covers many backup targets; add units in parallel for longer runtime (system dependent).

Recommended “complete system” path

For a clean solar + backup system: choose the battery, select a split-phase hybrid inverter if your home requires 120/240V, then add PV and the correct accessories for mounting, wiring, and protection.

FAQ

Customers who want longer backup runtime, fewer total battery units, and a clean expansion path for higher total kWh.
Yes. You can increase total storage (kWh) by adding additional units in parallel. Final limits depend on inverter rules, BMS settings, wiring, and protection devices.
Many U.S. homes use split-phase 120/240V service. Whether you need split-phase depends on your electrical service, loads, and system design.
Email Sales@rpe-na.com with your backup loads, target runtime, solar size (if known), and whether you need split-phase.
